Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Air Fryer Poached Eggs

🧂 Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs (or however many fit in your air fryer)
  • 2–4 tablespoons hot water (per egg)
  • Cooking spray or a bit of oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

🍳 Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Ramekins or silicone muffin cups (oven-safe)
  • Tongs or oven mitts

⏱️ Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and preheat for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Ramekins
    • Lightly spray the ramekins or muffin cups with cooking spray.
    • Add 2 tablespoons of hot water to each cup.
  3. Add the Eggs
    • Crack one egg into each ramekin (over the water).
    • Be gentle so the yolk stays intact.
  4. Air Fry
    • Carefully place the ramekins in the air fryer basket.
    • Cook for 5–6 minutes for soft poached eggs, or up to 7–8 minutes for firmer yolks.
    • (Air fryer models vary, so check at 5 minutes to see how set the whites are.)
  5. Remove & Serve
    • Use tongs to carefully take out the ramekins (they’ll be hot!).
    • Gently lift the egg out with a spoon or slotted spoon.
    • Season with salt, pepper, or a sprinkle of herbs.

🌿 Optional Toppings

  • Fresh chives or dill
  • Hollandaise sauce (for eggs Benedict)
  • Avocado slices or smoked salmon
  • Toasted English muffins

💡 Tips

  • Use very fresh eggs — they hold their shape better when poaching.
  • If the whites are still runny after cooking, pop them back in for another 30–60 seconds.
  • You can experiment with adding a splash of vinegar to the water (helps whites set faster).
