Air Fryer Potato Slices

🥔 Air Fryer Potato Slices

Servings: 2–4

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15–20 minutes

Total Time: 25–30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work great)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color and flavor)
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prep the Potatoes

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes well (you can peel them if you prefer).
  2. Slice into ¼-inch (6 mm) thick rounds — aim for even thickness so they cook evenly.
  3. Place slices in a bowl of cold water for 15–20 minutes to remove excess starch (this helps them crisp up).
  4. Drain and pat the slices very dry with paper towels.

2. Season

  1. Toss the dried slices in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings (garlic powder, paprika, etc.).
  2. Mix until all slices are evenly coated.

3. Air Fry

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the basket (work in batches if needed).
  3. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip or shake the basket.
  4. Cook for another 5–8 minutes, until golden brown and crisp on the edges.

4. Serve

  • Sprinkle with a little extra salt or herbs while hot.
  • Optional: add toppings like shredded cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, or chives for loaded potato slices.

Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — space helps them crisp evenly.
  • For extra crunch, increase temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes.
  • Try using sweet potatoes for a sweeter variation.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes.
