🍎 5-Ingredient Apple Dumplings (Super Easy & Cozy)
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled & cut into 8 wedges each
- 1 can (8-count) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup apple juice or lemon-lime soda (like Sprite)
- ½ cup butter (1 stick), melted
- ½ cup sugar (granulated or brown sugar both work)
(Optional but amazing: ½ tsp cinnamon — doesn’t count toward ingredients!)
Instructions
1. Prep
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 baking dish lightly.
2. Wrap the apples
- Separate crescent roll dough into triangles.
- Wrap one apple slice inside each dough piece, starting at the wide end and rolling up.
- Place dumplings seam-side down in the baking dish.
3. Make the syrup
- In a bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar (plus cinnamon if using).
- Spoon or pour this mixture evenly over the wrapped apples.
4. Add the liquid
- Pour apple juice (or lemon-lime soda) around the dumplings — not on top of them.
This creates the magical caramel sauce!
5. Bake
- Bake 35–40 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
6. Serve
Serve warm with:
- Vanilla ice cream
- Whipped cream
- Extra caramel drizzle
The bottoms will be saucy and caramel-like, while the tops stay crisp — perfection!
