🥔 Delicious Cheesy Skillet Potatoes (Quick Dinner Recipe)
Ingredients
- 500 g potatoes, peeled & cut into small cubes
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp flour
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 onion, chopped
- ½ sweet red pepper, diced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- 100 g mozzarella, shredded
- 100 g hard cheese (cheddar, gouda, etc.), shredded
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 50 ml water
- 200 ml cream (20–30%)
🔥 Instructions
1. Prepare the potatoes
- Place diced potatoes into a bowl.
- Add egg, flour, black pepper, paprika, and a pinch of salt.
- Mix well so the potatoes are coated in the seasoned mixture.
2. Pan-fry the potatoes
- Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a deep skillet.
- Add the coated potatoes.
- Fry on medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly golden.
- Remove from pan and set aside.
3. Sauté the vegetables
- In the same pan (add a little more oil if needed), sauté:
- Onion
- Red bell pepper
- Carrot
for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
4. Add sauce ingredients
Stir in:
- Tomato paste
- Soy sauce
- Water
Mix and cook 1–2 minutes to blend flavors.
5. Add cream & cheeses
- Reduce heat to medium-low.
- Pour in the cream and stir.
- Add half the mozzarella and half the hard cheese.
- Let the sauce gently simmer until cheese melts and thickens (2–3 minutes).
6. Bring it all together
- Add the fried potatoes back into the skillet.
- Stir so they’re fully coated in the creamy sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheeses on top.
- Cover with a lid and cook on low for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
7. Serve
Serve hot, straight from the skillet.

- For extra crispiness, air fry the potatoes before mixing them into the sauce.
