🍔 HAMBURGER STEAKS WITH ONION GRAVY

Ingredients

⭐ For the Hamburger Steaks

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp oil for frying

⭐ For the Onion Gravy

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

🔹 1. Make the Hamburger Steaks

  1. Mix ground beef, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form into 4 oval patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet and brown patties on both sides.
  4. Remove and set aside.

🔹 2. Make the Onion Gravy

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter with oil.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook until soft and golden.
  3. Add flour and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  6. Let it thicken slightly.

🔹 3. Combine & Finish

  1. Return the hamburger steaks to the gravy.
  2. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
