Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwich

🥪 Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches)

  • 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat work great)
  • 4 slices of cheese (e.g., cheddar, American, Swiss, or a mix)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened) or mayonnaise (optional substitute)
  • (Optional extras: tomato slices, crispy bacon, or a sprinkle of garlic powder)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer
    • Set to 370°F (188°C) and let it preheat for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Assemble the sandwiches
    • Spread butter or mayo on one side of each bread slice.
    • Place a slice of bread butter-side down.
    • Layer cheese slices on top (1–2 per sandwich).
    • Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  3. Air fry
    • Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket.
Tip: Don’t overcrowd—leave space for air to circulate.
    • Air fry at 370°F (188°C) for 4 minutes, then flip carefully.
    • Cook another 3–4 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  4. Serve
    • Let rest 1 minute before slicing.
    • Enjoy with tomato soup, pickle spears, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Pro Tips

  • For extra crispiness: sprinkle a pinch of parmesan on the buttered side before air frying.
  • For gooey melt: use a combo of cheeses — cheddar + mozzarella or gouda + American.
  • Add-ins: Try caramelized onions, pesto, or even a thin slice of ham for variation.
