- 4 cups water
- 2β3 tbsp fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional but recommended)
- 1β2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

- A few mint leaves (optional)

1. Prepare the Ginger
Peel ginger with a spoon and slice it thin β more surface area = stronger flavor and more beneficial compounds.
2. Simmer
In a small pot, add:
- sliced ginger
- 4 cups water
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 10β15 minutes.
3. Strain
Remove from heat and strain out the ginger.
4. Flavor Boost (Optional)
Stir in:
- lemon juice
- honey
- mint
- turmeric
Mix well.
5. Serve
