Oven-Fried Potatoes & Onions

🥔 Oven-Fried Potatoes & Onions

Serves: 4–6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35–45 minutes

🧈 Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional but recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for color/flavor)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

🍽️ Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Prep the Vegetables

  • Place sliced potatoes and onions in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
  • Toss until everything is well coated.

3. Arrange on the Baking Sheet

  • Spread potatoes and onions out in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Overlapping will make them steam instead of crisp, so keep them spaced as well as possible.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the potatoes and stir the onions.
  • Continue baking for another 15–25 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the edges.

Tip: If you want extra crispiness, broil for the last 2–3 minutes while watching closely.

5. Serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve hot as a side dish with grilled meats, breakfast eggs, roasted chicken, or anything you enjoy.

⭐ Tips for Perfect Oven-Fried Potatoes

  • High heat = crispiness.
  • Keep potatoes in a single layer—use two pans if needed.
  • Flip halfway to ensure even browning.
  • Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes work best.
