1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
2. Prepare the Batter
- In a large bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- sugar
- baking powder
- cinnamon
- salt
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, and vanilla (and melted butter if using).
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
- Stir until just combined β donβt overmix.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
3. Form the Fritters
- Scoop the batter onto the baking sheet using a spoon or ice cream scoop.
- Flatten slightly with the back of the spoon to help them spread.
You should get 8β10 fritters depending on size.
4. Bake
- Bake 10 minutes, then flip each fritter.
- Bake an additional 5β7 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
