Irresistible Chocolate Mani
(Moist Chocolate Loaf / Cake)
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar, rested 10 min)
- ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water or hot coffee (for richer chocolate flavor)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pan
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- sugar
- cocoa powder
- baking soda
- baking powder
- salt
Make sure there are no lumps.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
- eggs
- buttermilk
- oil
- vanilla extract
4. Combine
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
- Slowly pour in the hot water or hot coffee, mixing gently until the batter is smooth.
- Batter will be thin — that’s what makes it extra moist!
5. Bake
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Cool
Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Optional Topping (Highly Recommended 😋)
Chocolate Glaze
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
Melt together until smooth and pour over the cooled loaf.
