🍳 Fluffy Golden Stovetop Omelette
Serves 1
🥚 Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk or cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Fillings (choose 1–3)
- Cheese: cheddar, mozzarella, gruyère, feta
- Veggies: spinach, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, onions
- Protein: ham, bacon, smoked salmon
- Herbs: chives, parsley, basil
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Whisk the eggs until frothy
- Crack eggs into a bowl.
- Add milk/cream, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk vigorously for 30–40 seconds until the mixture is very bubbly and light.
The more air you whisk in, the fluffier the omelette!
2. Prepare fillings (optional)
If using vegetables or meats, sauté them in a separate pan until cooked.
Set aside.
3. Heat the pan
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add the butter and let it melt gently without browning.
4. Cook the omelette slowly
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan.
- Let it sit for a few seconds, then gently push the edges inward with a spatula while tilting the pan to allow uncooked eggs to flow to the edges.
- Repeat this around the pan for about 1–2 minutes.
This creates layers and keeps it fluffy.
5. Cover & steam
Lower heat slightly, cover the pan, and cook for 1–2 minutes more.
This step traps steam → making the omelette extra soft and puffy.
6. Add fillings & fold
- Add cheese or other fillings to one side of the omelette.
- Use a spatula to gently fold it over.
- Slide onto a plate.
7. Serve
Serve hot with fresh herbs, toast, or fruit.
✨ Extra Tips for Maximum Fluffiness
- Don’t overcook. Remove from heat as soon as the center is just set.
- Medium-low heat ensures a golden, tender exterior.
- Adding cream makes the omelette richer and softer.
- Covering the pan is the secret to a soufflé-like puff.
🌟 Variations
