🍞 No-Knead Homemade Bread (Beginner Friendly)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon instant or active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water

That’s it. No sugar, no oil.


Instructions

1️⃣ Mix

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast
  • Add warm water
  • Stir until a sticky dough forms (don’t knead)

2️⃣ Rise

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel
  • Let it rise 12–18 hours at room temperature
    (overnight works perfectly)

The dough should double in size and look bubbly.

3️⃣ Shape

  • Lightly flour your hands and surface
  • Gently shape dough into a round loaf
  • Don’t punch it down

4️⃣ Preheat

  • Put a Dutch oven or heavy pot with lid in the oven
  • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) for 30 minutes

5️⃣ Bake

  • Carefully place dough into the hot pot
  • Cover with lid
  • Bake 30 minutes covered
  • Remove lid and bake 15 more minutes until golden brown

6️⃣ Cool

  • Remove bread and let cool at least 30 minutes
  • Slice and enjoy 🍞

🔥 Tips

  • No Dutch oven? Use a baking tray + oven-safe bowl on top
  • Want softer crust? Brush with butter after baking
  • Want flavor? Add:
    • Garlic & herbs
    • Seeds (sesame, sunflower)
    • Whole wheat (replace 1 cup flour)
