Sticky Sweet Bacon Glazed Chicken π
Ingredients
For the chicken
- 4β6 chicken thighs or drumsticks (bone-in, skin-on for best flavor)
- 1 tsp salt
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the bacon glaze
- 6β8 slices bacon, chopped
- Β½ cup honey
- β cup brown sugar
- ΒΌ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional but amazing)
- Β½ tsp chili flakes (optional for a little kick)
Instructions
- Season the chicken
Pat the chicken dry. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. - Sear for flavor
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear chicken skin-side down for 4β5 minutes until golden. Flip and cook 2 more minutes. Remove and set aside. - Cook the bacon
In the same skillet, add chopped bacon. Cook until crispy.
Remove excess grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan. - Make the sticky glaze
Add honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, Dijon mustard, and chili flakes.
Stir and simmer for 3β5 minutes until glossy and slightly thick. - Glaze the chicken
Return chicken to the pan. Spoon the bacon glaze all over it.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20β25 minutes, flipping once, until chicken is fully cooked and sticky. - Finish & shine
Uncover and let the sauce thicken for 3β5 more minutes, spooning glaze over the chicken.
